Rangoli patterns are a traditional Indian art form. These colourful designs are usually drawn on the path near the entrance to a house to welcome guests during Diwali, the Indian festival of lights.
Rangoli is created from a series of geometric shapes and is usually made from paint, chalk, coloured powder, petals rice or sand.
To celebrate Diwali 2006, Patak's and school children from across the UK attempted to break the world record for the largest ever Rangoli pattern. For full details of the prestigious event, click here.
